Type Locality and Naming

Informal name, for sequence close to Cambodian border in Trai and Chanthaburi provinces. SE Thailand (Sukhothai Zone extension). Consists of 3 formations: lower = Noen Po Fm, middle = Pong Nam Ron Fm, upper = Noen Pu Yai Yua Fm. Named by Ridd (1978), subdivided by Chaodumrong (1992).

Synonym: กลุ่มหินจันทบุรี; Chantaburi Gr

Lithology and Thickness

Sequence of dark-grey mudstones and greywackes with turbidite characteristics. Ca. 500 m total.
